10 Ways To Get Involved

Lyde Green Community Association is a charity organisation, run by volunteers and we need as much help as we can to make the area a great place to live. There are lots of different ways you can get involved but here are just a few that you may not have thought of:

 

1. Website/Newsletter copywriting: We use our website to help people understand what we do, and to share key information and updates. If you have web skills, we need you! We also send out regular news via email. Help with Copywriting would be ideal!

2. Marketing and Design: If you have design or graphic skills, could you help us with posters, flyers and other communications?

3. Community events: We run events for the community, such as our annual Summer Sizzler, but we need more people to join our events team to organise and help at events.

4. Fundraising: We really want to get the residents involved in fundraising; perhaps you could help us with crowd-funding or a local fundraising event? We’re also on the hunt for a lead in this area who can oversee fundraising activity and take a strategic overview. We continue to apply for grants from national and local funders – so if you have persuasive writing skills, we need you!

5. Leafleting/Surveys: We want to carry out better two-way communication with residents – Can you help us to understand what the community in Lyde Green wants?

6. Practical help to run the Community Centre: We’re working to build a group of volunteers to help with various operational tasks. Could you help with decorating, maintenance, odd jobs or gardening?

7. Working with partners: Can you help us to build strong relationships with local partners (health, charities, council and businesses) to reach goals and work together for Lyde Green?

8. Community Centre team: A few volunteers meet regularly to plan the development of the Community Centre. We are looking for 2-3 more people who can attend meetings and take actions to find out about the important stuff that will help the Community Centre be successful.

9. Legal advice: We have a number of legal stages involved in taking on the Community Centre, amongst other things. Do you have any legal expertise that you are willing to offer us?

10. Community Centre users: We will be supporting a range of exciting groups and activities to get off the ground in the Centre. Would you like to run a group or activity?
